Behavior Services

Anxiety, aggression, and destructive behavior can severely damage the bond we have with our companion animals. Even seemingly innocent behaviors, such as jumping up to greet you, can become a problem as a pet grows up or the behavior becomes out-of-control.

Veterinarian Dr. J.C. Burcham has a professional interest in the behavior of companion animals, and has received additional training in this field. She currently offers behavioral consultations to help dog and cat owners identify the causes of their pets' problems, and develop a realistic treatment plan. You will be asked to fill out a detailed behavior form which Dr. Burcham will review in order to make appropriate recommendations. Sometimes treatment involves implementing behavior modification training and/or anti-anxiety medication.

Along with our Behavior Coordinator, Peggy Gregg, R.V.T., Dr. Burcham offers monthly Puppy Preschool Parties and Kitty Kindergartens (inquire for schedule and availability).
