 Born and raised in Ames, IA, Dr. J.C. Burcham received her B.S. from the University of Minnesota and her DVM from Iowa State University. Dr. Burcham loves to be involved in the community and she actively supports local animal shelters. About once a month, she volunteers for an organization called No More Homeless Pets—KC, because she would love to see a day when there is no such thing as pet overpopulation! She is also a member of the Olathe Noon Rotary Club, and is on the board of directors for the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association (KCVMA). Birds and animal behavior have always fascinated her, and she enjoys focusing her attention on these fields in veterinary medicine.
She is currently a member of the following veterinary organizations:

In her "spare time", Dr. Burcham enjoys teaching dog bite prevention classes to area schools, training for triathlons and running the occasional marathon. Belly dancing is a unique interest of hers, and she is a big Harry Potter fan! She lives with her husband, 3 rescue mutts, a gigantic black cat, and a bearded dragon in Olathe.
